Gratitude

We have done a lot of thanking this year - both to God and to other people - though really none of it seems adequate to express our true gratitude.

We have so much to be thankful for this year. What a rollercoaster this year has been. Sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago that we were facing so many obstacles with Brenna's health, and other times, it feels like last week...and to be illness-free and medication-free (save for a zinc supplement and vitamin) since August is definitely something to be celebrated this Thanksgiving.

This year, we are so grateful for our community...
For 10 whole months of meals delivered to our door twice a week.
For thoughtful gifts picked out and given to our children.
For words of encouragement and support.
For prayers. Lots and lots of prayers.
For sharing our journey and for loving our baby.

And this year, I am grateful for not only the big things, but the little things as well...
Cool Ranch Doritos, my kitties Gus and Boston, Captain and Coke, Fridays, my camera, clean sheets, my iPhone, Pinterest, having all of our family in the area, Aunt Juice, cartoons OnDemand, white chocolate mochas from Starbucks, the person who returned my cart for me at the grocery store when it was raining, Target, funny texts from friends, uncontrollable toddler giggles, inside jokes, rainy afternoons watching movies, family outings to Scheels, McDonald's cheeseburgers with mayonnaise, fountain sodas, a Sunday afternoon drive in the country, receiving a nice card in the mail, finding a new pair of boots that fit perfectly, lazy Saturday mornings at home, long afternoon naps by both kids at the same time, an unexpected compliment from my husband...and much, much more!

And I am especially thankful for such an incredible family. We are so blessed to have such loving and supportive people in our lives...
My parents and all that they have taught me about being a good role model and teacher, and all the time and work they put into parenting me.

My brother, who is awesome and a great Uncle B to my kids.

My in-laws, whom I actually get along with and are fantastic grandparents :)

My husband, who is my everything.

My little creatures, my babies, whom I love more than anything in this world.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. What a journey this year has been. 1,000 miles? 10,000 miles? Too many to count? Seems like forever, seems like a minute.
